In celebration of Veteran’s Day, there will be a ceremony today at 6PM at the Tipp City Memorial, located at the corner of Hyatt and Main Streets.

Veterans Memorial to be dedicated Sunday
TIPP CITY — A black granite Veterans Memorial surrounded by more than 1,000 bricks engraved with names of area veterans from the Revolutionary War through today will be dedicated in ceremonies Sunday afternoon.

Activities will involve people of all ages, from Broadway Elementary School students, who will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, to veterans representing all military branches.

Streetscape Completed, Veteran’s Memorial Dedication Scheduled for November 11

The stripes are painted and Streetscape is complete (for now) as workers finished up construction on the portion of Main between Dairy Queen and Hinders. The wide, beautiful street is bordered by rich grass and nice sidewalks.

Work on the Veteran’s Memorial is wrapping up also, leading up to the November 11th Dedication Ceremony, to be held at 2pm. Assembly will begin at 1:30pm, and the dedication will be followed by a ceremonial laying of the cornerstone by the Tipp City Masonic Lodge. Veteran’s Memorial Park AND StreetScape Construction Begin

The streets around Tipp City are looking busy as construction began this week on the long-planned Veteran’s Memorial Park, located at the corner of Main and Hyatt. And construction on the next segment of the Main Street StreetScape, a comprehensive program to renovate and beautify Main Street, should begin very soon – tree removal has already begun. The segment of Main Street between Tippecanoe and Hyatt will undergo extensive reconstruction through the fall of 2007 as contractors replace pipes and stormwater systems. Above the ground, new sidewalks, gutters, curbs, and driveway approaches will be installed. The project will also include installation of decorative lampposts and a three-foot wide strip of grass, known as a curb lawn, to improve safety and aesthetics as tourists and townspeople traverse our town’s busiest thoroughfare.
