A Winter’s Yuletide Gathering Announced for November 14 & 15

Tipp City, OH – The downtown merchants announce that the 2009 A Winter’s Yuletide Gathering is scheduled for November 14 & 15 in downtown historical Tipp City. The event will kick off on Saturday the 14th, 10am – 8pm and continue on Sunday the 15th, noon – 6pm. This annual shopkeeper’s open house will include breakfast and photos with Santa, strolling carolers, live entertainment, carriage rides, great local food and discounts at many local shops.

A Winter’s Yuletide Gathering is a program of the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, a non-profit corporation and a National Trust for Historic Preservation Organization with the mission to enhance, preserve and promote downtown Tipp City. The Kettering Clodbusters-Tippecanoe Canal Jumpers Vintage Base Ball Exhibition Game will be held at the Willowtree Inn on Sunday, August 16th from 2 pm to 5 pm with a rain date of August 23rd (location and times the same). There will be ample free parking and the organizing committee is in the process of setting up for the event, so more details are to come. The 6th annual Tipp City Antique and Artisan Show will be returning to Tipp City’s Main Street, which will be closed from 9 am to 5 pm to accommodate the 60 participating merchants and artisans, who will be displaying unique and collectible primitives, glassware, garden architectural items, furniture, vintage clothing and jewelry, and other collectibles. Many local artists will also be participating, bringing their watercolors, oils, pottery, weaving, metal and wood forms, photography, “papers”, hand-embroidered items and jewelry. Other merchants will be doing ongoing, live demonstrations of their work techniques and be creating unique works of art right in front of your eyes! Some art will be in the form of music and dance throughout the day at a stage located at the corner of Third and Main streets.

To add to the festivities, the Tippecanoe Farmer’s Market will also be participating throughout the day with fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables, and the nearby Tippecanoe Museum will be open all day, with docents to help you enjoy your visit. For “eats,” look into the Pancake Breakfast from 8-11 sponsored by the Tipp United Methodist Church, the Spaghetti Dinner from 4-6 sponsored by the Miami Democratic Women’s Club and food booths sponsored by local organizations through out the day. The local restaurants will also be open their regular hours with full menus.

Thanks everyone for coming out for Winter’s Yuletide Gathering – it was a great success!

> We were on BUCHER’S BEAT – here are a few of the Channel 2 segments broadcast on Thursday.

> The Friends of the Library set up a table and gave away:
– 38 gallons of hot cider
– 18 gallons of hot chocolate
– 500 cookies,
– 800 homemade marshmallows
– 16 batches of chili

Just a reminder – this weekend is the annual “Winter’s Yuletide Gathering” in Tipp City. Please click here for more information, a list of events and store specials, and a printable guide to the event. The town will be buzzing with all kinds of Holiday “goings on”. The stores have brought out all the Christmas decorations and inventory. Many will have special prices. The restaurants are always a treat. The Methodist Church is having a pancake breakfast. Ample parking is available on Broadway, one block south of Main Street.

Channel 2’s Bucher’s Beat will be broadcasting LIVE at Harrison’s tomorrow morning! The show runs from 5:30am to 7:00am but we’ll be getting set up around 5am.
