The Kettering Clodbusters-Tippecanoe Canal Jumpers Vintage Base Ball Exhibition Game will be held at the Willowtree Inn on Sunday, August 16th from 2 pm to 5 pm with a rain date of August 23rd (location and times the same). There will be ample free parking and the organizing committee is in the process of setting up for the event, so more details are to come. TIPP CITY, OH – This past Saturday, the Downtown Tipp City Partnership hosted the 2nd annual Tippecanoe HarvestFest at the corner of Second and Main Streets in downtown Tipp City. The Street was full of party goers dressed in their favorite Halloween attire to listen to the great sounds of local band Spungwurthy. The event capped off a month long list of events coordinated with Tipp-Monroe Community Services and Tipp City Library that included the Children’s Halloween Parade, a downtown decorating contest and a live Clue game.

“What a great time!” said Logan Rogers, HarvestFest Committee Chairman, “The crowd was really into the Halloween spirit.” A special thank you goes out to our event sponsors: Tour Great Miami, TGM Designs, Tipp City Independent Voice, Midwest Memories, Cincinnati Bell, RE/MAX Professionals, Monroe Federal Savings & Loan Assn., Upper Valley Medical Center, US Bank, Clever Girl Business & Design Solutions, the City of Tipp City, Harrison’s and Spring Hill Nurseries.

“I would like to thank the HarvestFest Committee for all their hard work”, said Matt Owen, Executive Director for the Partnership, “This event could never happen without the volunteer work and support from our community.” The HarvestFest Committee included Greg Enslen, Jill Nesbitt, Diana Featherstone, Matt Black, John Kessler, Adam Blake, Melissa Maclauchlan, Christina Brownlee, Reed Spencer, Rogers and Owen. The Partnership is a non-profit corporation and a National Trust for Historic Preservation Organization with the mission to enhance, preserve and promote downtown Tipp City.

We’re shutting down 2nd street in the historic downtown shopping district and putting up tents for refreshments and a creepy Halloween bash! Local favorites Spungewurthy are returning. You must be 21 WITH PROPER ID to pick your poison. Beer, hard cider and soft drinks will be available, as will commemorative posters and other items. Come in costume to save $2 off admission and compete in our costume contests! The Tippecanoe HarvestFest is presented by the Downtown Tipp City Partnership. • October 26, 7pm – Friday Night Frights at the Football Game. Tippecanoe High School’s varsity football team kicks off against CBC foe Springfield Shawnee under a full moon at Park Stadium. The theme? “Scare the Braves!” Fans of all ages are encouraged to pack the stands in costume, and special awards will be given to the most spirited students from each building in the district. Plenty of other surprises are in store, so show up if you dare!
• October 26, 7pm – Ghost Walk of downtown Tipp City. Meet at the corner of Main and Third Streets (next to the Methodist Church parking lot) to enjoy a walking tour of downtown Tipp and enjoy ghostly tales and stories of haunted happenings. You MUST RSVP for this event as it may be canceled if we don’t reach the minimum number of guests.
• October 27, 7pm to 11pm – we wrap up the HarvestFest with our HarvestFest Party! Come join us for an outdoor over-21 party in downtown Tipp City!
