Library News
Tipp City Public Library has an exciting new program designed to help get “Every Child Ready to Read.”
Current research shows that children who learn six critical pre-reading skills before they start kindergarten will become better readers. On Monday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m. trained personnel will discuss their insights on why these six skills are so important, and share ways to include early literacy activities into the daily routine.
Participants will leave the program with hand-outs filled with titles of high-interest books that are age appropriate. They will also receive a compilation of early literacy activities.
For decades, Tipp City Public Library has been an area leader in promoting early childhood literacy. In addition to the “Every Child Ready to Read®” program materials, the library also has books, regular story times for children age one through five, and other resources to help parents and childcare providers facilitate their infants, toddlers, and preschoolers as they learn to read.
Registration is not required. For more information, visit the library website at http://www.tippcitylibrary.org.
