If you have been waiting for free, convenient classes to learn more about computers, the Internet, MS Word and/or Email, wait no more. The Tipp City Public Library will offer morning and evening classes on those topics beginning next week and continuing through December.
For the past several years the library has been a host site for twice-yearly visits by the Mobile Computer Training Lab, provided by the State Library of Ohio. Now, thanks to a generous donation, the library has acquired several new laptops and other equipment to outfit its own computer lab. With this equipment in place and staff prepared to teach, the library has announced its class schedule which begins Wednesday, Sept. 03.
Classes will be offered every week on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 11 a.m. The first week of each month, Introduction to the Computer will be offered. The second week, the topic will be Introduction to Internet. The third week, MS Word will be the focus. The fourth week of each month, the class will be on Introduction to Email.
Classes will be small so students can get as much assistance as they need. Registration is required. Call the library at 667-3826, or visit at 11 E. Main St., and sign up for the classes that suit your needs and schedule. WACO PROGRAM
From 1928 to 1935, the WACO Aircraft Company of Troy led the way in civilian aircraft manufacturing. Come hear Terry Purke, WACO Museum and Aviation Learning Center Director, speak about this historical company, the “Vintage Fly-In” coming in September, and WACO today.
His program is set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 06. No registration required.
CLOSED LABOR DAY
The Tipp City Public Library will be closed Monday, Sept. 01 in observance of Labor Day.
TRUSTEES’ COMMITTEE MEETING
The Library Trustees Technology Committee will meet at 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 08.
