If you have ever wondered if you could make your living as a writer, sign up now to attend “Heads Up on the Publishing Industry.” The program will be led by aspiring children’s author and freelance writer, Suzie Barnes at Tipp City Public Library at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
Specifically, Ms. Barnes will address ways to determine your niche in the publishing industry, finding as well as communicating with a publisher, and the business of freelancing.
Begin 2008 by doing something positive for yourself. Attend this informative program, and see if the publishing industry is for you. Registration is required.
PENGUIN PROGRAMS
Children in grades K – one are invited to “Party Like a Penguin” at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10. The event will include stories, games, treats, and a craft.
The next week, on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 4:30 p.m., “Party Like a Penguin” will be offered to second and third graders. Aspects of the program will be altered to better spark the interests of these older students.
Registration is required for the children’s programs.
TIME FOR TODDLERS
The next Lap Story Time for two year-olds is set for Monday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. “Snow” is the theme for this morning program. These toddler events include stories, fingerplays, and songs.
Registration is required, and an adult must accompany each little one.
PRESCHOOL STORY TIME
Another five-week session of story times for three to five year-olds is underway. Preschoolers enjoy stories and crafts while making new friends
Programs are offered at 10 and 11 a.m., and 6 p.m. each Tuesday now through February 05. A one-time registration is required.
BOARD RETREAT SET
The Tipp City Public Library Board of Trustees will meet at the home of Trustees’ President, Larry Riesser on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 8 a.m. to noon for a board retreat. The location is 650 N. Third St., Tipp City.
